Branches of the aortic arch, angiogram

Remember that the left thoracic duct empties into the left subclavian artery at the branch point between the left subclavian and left internal jugular and drains. The right lymphatic duct empties into the right subclavian and drains the right arm and right half of the head. Right duct drainage can be blocked by cancer or right radical mastectomy. Left duct drainage can be blocked after inserting a central venous line using the left internal jugular for access.
